PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a resolution appointing member(s) to the Planning & Zoning Commission due to the vacancy of a regular member.
BACKGROUND:
An appointment is necessary to fill the remaining term of one (1) regular member vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Commission due to the resignation of a regular member on September 2, 2024. As part of the Application Review Panel process, which conducted interviews for the Planning & Zoning Commission on June 10 and June 19, 2024, it was anticipated that there could be one or more vacancies on the board due to the impending election and member(s) running for public office. The panel met on October 2, 2024, to review the 13 applications on file in the City Clerk’s Office and recommends that JP Thornton be appointed as a regular member with a term ending June 30, 2027. JP Thornton currently serves as an alternate member; therefore, if appointed, an alternate member position would become available. The Application Review Panel recommends that Phil Annett be appointed to fill the alternate member position with a term ending June 30, 2025.

I move to adopt Resolution No. 24-3791 appointing as a regular member with a term ending June 30, 2027; and ________ as an alternate member to the Lake Havasu City Planning & Zoning Commission with a term ending June 30, 2025.
