PURPOSE:
To adopt a resolution approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for the design and construction of solar powered flashing beacons with high visibility crosswalk markings at various locations on Swanson Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
ADOT has appropriated funding from the State Highway Fund to design and construct solar powered flashing beacons with high visibility crosswalk markings on Swanson Avenue. The area between Scott Drive and the Pima Wash on Swanson Avenue has seen an increase in pedestrian traffic and as a result, this area has been identified for these improvements.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The construction of these solar powered flashing beacons with high visibility crosswalk markings will help motorist and pedestrians safely travel across the road.
