PURPOSE:
Award bid for the Chesapeake Boulevard Drainage Improvements Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040.
BACKGROUND:
On August 17, 2015, four sealed bids were received in response to the advertisement and opened for the project. The four responsive bidders were as follows:

COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Chesapeake Boulevard is a high traffic collector street from Jamaica Boulevard to McCulloch Boulevard. During storm events, Chesapeake Boulevard sustains considerable damage from erosion caused by drainage from the north onto Chesapeake Boulevard. The sediment and debris creates traffic hazards during and after the event, requiring considerable cleanup.
The project will help to stabilize Chesapeake Boulevard during storm events, provide a safer roadway for the public, and lessen the cost of cleanup.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Chesapeake Boulevard Drainage Improvements Project DR1000 in the amount of $300,000.00. The additional $523,200.00 will be transferred from Project ST2930, Drainage Improvement Program. Both projects are budgeted in the Flood Control Fund.
