PURPOSE:
To adopt a resolution approving an agreement with Arizona State Parks and Trails (ASPT) related to the grant of right of way for the Freedom Bridge and related streets.
BACKGROUND:
In 1997, Lake Havasu City entered into an MOU with ASPT that included reserving a right-of-way (ROW) across the south end of the Lake Havasu State Park for a second bridge and related streets. The MOU was renewed last in 2019. This IGA outlines the responsibilities of the parties with respect to the granting of the ROW.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The Freedom Bridge will provide a second way on and off the island improving traffic flow on and off the island.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City will incur costs for improvements made to the Lake Havasu State Park during construction of the Freedom Bridge and Freedom Avenue.
