Award Bid for Rotary Park Improvements - Tinnell Skate Park ADA Parking & Aquatic Center Parking Tie to ABC Asphalt, LLC (Project No’s PK1040 & PK1050)
Body
FUNDING SOURCE:
CIP-Refuse Fund
PURPOSE:
To award bid for the Rotary Park Improvements-Tinnell Skate Park ADA Parking & Aquatic Center Parking Tie in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040.
BACKGROUND:
The goal to provide additional access and parking to the sports complex, specifically the flow bowl area, came about shortly after the complex was completed. The parking lot expansion allows for ADA accessible routes and parking spaces for improved access to the flow bowl portion of the complex. The improvements will reduce dust and debris that is tracked into the roadway from vehicles that currently park in the dirt lot. The improvements will also provide for a staging area for bleachers or vendors during future events. The Aquatic Center Parking Tie was part of the original improvements project, but was postponed due to a delay with the land exchange.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
These improvements will complete unimproved portions within the park. The roadway tie will provide seamless flow between the Aquatic Center and Rotary Park and allow easier use of the facilities at each location for future events. The ADA Parking will provide much needed accessible access to the flow bowl area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Appropriations are available in the amounts of $90,000 in PK1040 Tinnell Park ADA Parking and $50,000 in PK1050 Aquatic Center Parking Tie. Budget appropriation and funding for the remaining $27,000 will be transferred from project PR2070 Havasu 280 Infrastructure Master Plan and will be utilizing Refuse funds.
