PURPOSE:
To consider a cooperative purchase of two (2) BraunAbility ProMaster ADA Low Floor Vans utilizing the Arizona State Contract (CTR054848), City’s Cooperative Purchase Agreement 500579, in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.3(A)(1).
BACKGROUND:
These vehicles will replace two 2020 Dodge ProMasters that have met their useful life. The two 2020 Dodge ProMasters have been experiencing mechanical concerns on the upfitting of the slider doors. The replacement Dodge BraunAbility ProMasters have bus doors and will enhance the Transit fleet and better meet the needs of our Transit services. Overall vehicle maintenance needs are increasing and the need to replace these vehicles with a newer more efficient vehicle is a priority. We have purchased two BraunAbility ProMaster ADA Low Floor Vans with the bus doors and these vehicles have been a great fit for Transit. The vehicle configuration will be 7 passengers in the rear with one wheelchair position with a ramp.
This purchase will be made utilizing the Arizona State’s Cooperative Contract CTR054848 (500579) executed by the City on September 11, 2024. This contract allows for the purchase of Mobility Vehicles and Vehicle Conversion Services from Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Providing a cost-effective and reliable fleet of vehicles allows Lake Havasu City Transit to meet its goals of providing safe efficient and effective services and programs for the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the two vehicles is $268,254. Funding is partially from Lake Havasu City’s apportionment of 5307 funding in the amount of $228,016. The local match is $40,238 and is funded by the General Fund. Funds for these vehicles are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget. The Transit operations and maintenance budget will cover any operating expenditures related to this vehicle.
