PURPOSE:
To consider approving a Professional Services Agreement (Design) for the Booster Station 2A Improvements Project (500829) in accordance with City Code §§ 3.10.010.2 (Technical Registrant) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
Upgrading the existing Booster Station 2A is essential to produce reliable and safe water for the community. This project entails:
• New booster pumps.
• New valves, piping for the new pump installation.
• Pump controls and instruments.
• Additions of input/outputs to the existing electrical and SCADA system.
• Additional electrical panels, controls and instruments.
Staff negotiated a fee of $217,280 with NCS Engineers, Inc., for Professional Design Services, which appears reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Enhance the reliability of water service, fire protection, water pressure and volume to citizens in adjacent areas. Additionally, this process will reduce yearly operating costs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds of $217,280 are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Capital Improvement Plan utilizing Water Utility Funds.
