PURPOSE:
To consider ratification of the purchase of a Flygt main recycle pump through James, Cooke & Hobson, Inc., (500207) utilizing the City of Chandler, Arizona Contract No. PW2-936-4357, for Water and Wastewater Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services in accordance with City Code Section § 3.10.010.3 (A)(1).
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department (Water and Wastewater Divisions) utilize cooperative agreements for pump equipment maintenance and repair services. James, Cooke & Hobson, Inc., is the exclusive representative for Arizona municipalities for pumps, blowers and parts for Flygt and Kaeser, and is the exclusive factory authorized service and repair facility for Flygt pumps. Wastewater has 60 in-service pumps and blowers of these brands currently in use.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Utilizing the cooperative purchase agreements for various water and wastewater equipment maintenance, parts and repair service provides greater efficiency and economy through leveraged pricing. Having a functioning main recycle submersible closed loop pump is critical to the City’s North Regional Treatment Plant’s daily operations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $128,069 plus applicable taxes are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget utilizing Wastewater Utility Funds.
