COUNCIL COMMUNICATION

TO:                                          Honorable Mayor and Council

FROM:                     Gabby Vera, Parks and Recreation Director

SUBJECT:Title

Action: Service Agreement with Arizona Bounce Around for Inflatable Equipment and Services for Teen Break Event (Gabby Vera)

Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

General Fund

PURPOSE:

To consider approval of a service agreement with Arizona Bounce Around to provide inflatable equipment, delivery, setup, and on-site support services for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Teen Break event.

BACKGROUND:

The Parks and Recreation Department will host Teen Break from March 17 through March 19, 2026. Teen Break is a supervised recreational event designed specifically for middle school and high school youth during school breaks, providing a safe, structured, and engaging environment where youth may otherwise lack positive outlets.

Arizona Bounce Around will provide large-scale inflatable attractions, obstacle courses, interactive games, generators, delivery, setup, and on-site support to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the event. These attractions serve as the primary activity components and are essential to the success of Teen Break, helping create an engaging environment that encourages participation and fosters positive peer interaction.

This item is before Council for approval because it contains an indemnification clause.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

Teen Break provides local youth with a safe, supervised recreational environment during school breaks, supporting the City’s commitment to youth safety, wellness, and community engagement. Programs such as Teen Break help reduce unsupervised and high-risk behaviors by offering structured, positive alternatives that promote physical activity, social development, and connection to community resources.

Providing engaging and high-quality recreational opportunities for youth strengthens families, enhances quality of life, and reinforces Lake Havasu City as a community that invests in its young residents. Teen Break is expected to serve hundreds of participants and has become an important program supporting youth engagement and community well-being.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds in the amount of $24,856.25 are budgeted and available in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Parks and Recreation Department budget in the General Fund.
