PURPOSE:
To consider approval of Task Order Number 11 to the Master Professional Services Agreement 500225 with C&S Engineers, Inc., for the North Area Hangar Development Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.010.2 (Technical Registrant).
BACKGROUND:
There is significant demand for aircraft hangar storage space at the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport. The Airport currently has over 120 requests for hangar space which the City cannot accommodate currently. A plan was developed to begin the process of meeting that demand, and this represents the first phase of that development by designing the underground utilities and taxiway for the first phase of this planned development.
This recommendation is to consider approval of Task Order Number 11 for design and bidding services. Public Works has negotiated a fee for these design and bidding services with C&S Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $99,509 which appears reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The development of additional hangars will allow for more aircraft to be housed at the Airport, which will increase overall activity. The Lake Havasu City Airport is a vital economic and transportation hub in our community. Adding hangars to the Airport infrastructure will increase the Airport’s economic impact.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Capital Improvement Plan utilizing funds from the General Fund.
