PURPOSE:
To consider approval of Cooperative Purchase Agreements 500317 with Maxwell Asphalt, Inc., and 500343 with Superior Supply for the purchase of crack sealant products for roadway preservation in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.3(A)(1) and § 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
Lake Havasu City utilizes a variety of products and services for roadway preservation, including crack fill and mastic. Cracks form in the pavement due to expanding and contracting, caused by extreme temperatures. Crack sealing prevents water infiltration and improves the lifespan of the pavement.
The Maxwell Asphalt, Inc., GAP-Patch 570 and Superior Supply’s CraftCo products are rated to withstand the extreme temperatures that Lake Havasu City experiences annually.
The purchase of CraftCo Deery 200 Crack Sealant from Superior Supply will be made utilizing a cooperative purchasing agreement from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) State Contract No. CTR066733. The purchase GAP-Patch 570 from Maxwell Asphalt, Inc., will be made utilizing a cooperative purchasing agreement from the City of Mesa Agreement #2022040.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
By utilizing cooperative purchasing agreements, the City is able to be fiscally prudent, extend the life of our roadways and maximize the community’s return on investment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Highway Revenue User Fund in the amount of $274,442.90, plus applicable taxes.
