PURPOSE:

Approve Task Order No. 9 with C&S Engineers, Inc., for services for the Runway Lights and Signs Improvement Project (“the project”) in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.030.1.

BACKGROUND:

This project replaces legacy incandescent lighting systems that are beyond useable service life, inefficient and difficult to maintain. The project replaces the Runway Lights, Runway End Identifier Lights (REILs) and Runway Distance Remaining Signs. This will be a design-bid-build project, and the City will work with C&S through the design and bid phases to have valid bids available to apply for the FAA/ADOT grants in the spring of 2025. Staff negotiated a fee of $205,449 with C&S Engineers, Inc., for Design, Bidding and Construction Management services for the project.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The Lake Havasu City Airport is a vital economic and transportation hub in our community. It plays a significant role in the local economy as well as bringing in many work-related visitors (military and civilian training).

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds in the amount of $205,449 are allocated and available in the Capital Improvement Plan for this project. This project will be funded as follows:
