PURPOSE:
To approve the execution of Cooperative Purchase Agreement 500490 and purchase of one (1) 2025 Freightliner 114SD with truck mounted combination sewer cleaner utilizing the Sourcewell Contract Number 101221-SCA in accordance with City Code §§ 3.10.010.3(A)(1) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
The Lake Havasu City Public Works Department, Vehicle Maintenace Division, is requesting approval of the purchase of one (1) 2025 Freightliner 114SD with truck mounted combination sewer cleaner for a total delivered price of $619,048.81.
This vehicle would be an addition to the Wastewater Utility Division fleet. Wastewater currently runs three (3) sewage cleanout vehicles that require extensive maintenance due to their excessive use. It is imperative that a reliable vehicle be available to address sewage backups at all times.
This purchase would be made through a cooperative agreement utilizing the Sourcewell Contract # 101221-SCA. Sourcewell is a government agency that solicits competitive contracts nationwide. Sourcewell members, of which Lake Havasu City is a member, can utilize cooperative purchasing through these contracts in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 41-2632(A).
The proposed Cooperative Purchase Agreement is for a term ending on November 29, 2025, and allows the purchase of high-pressure jetting, sewer vacuum, hydro-excavation, and municipal pumping equipment with related parts and accessories. Staff requests authorization to renew the Cooperative Purchase Agreement for one additional year.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The purchase of a new sewage cleanout vehicle is expected to have a positive impact on our community, providing faster, more reliable response times to sewage emergencies, and the ability to get systems flowing more efficiently.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $619,048.81 are available in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Wastewater budget for the purchase of a new sewage cleanout vehicle.

SUGGESTED MOTION:Recommended Action
I move to approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Cooperative Purchase Agreement and approve the purchase of one (1) 2025 Freightliner 114SD with truck mounted combination sewer cleaner from AZ Wastewater Industries, Inc., in the amount of $619,048.81; and authorize City staff to exercise the option to renew the Agreement for one additional one-year term.
