PURPOSE:
Approve the Professional Services Agreement (Oracle Contract No. 500499) with Dig Studio, Inc., for construction observations during the construction phase services of the Downtown Catalyst Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.010.2 (Title 34).
BACKGROUND:
Lake Havasu City owns an approximately 1.5-acre parcel of land in the downtown area located at the corner of McCulloch Boulevard and Querio Drive. This location was purchased by the City in 2017 as the location for a Downtown Catalyst Project. The Downtown Catalyst Project was identified as part of the City’s Vision 20/20 Plan. This plan was a major contributing factor to the community winning second place in the Frontier Communications America’s Best Communities (ABC) competition.
The City originally hired Dig Studios to design the Downtown Catalyst Project and to produce biddable plans and specifications. With the recent bidding process concluded and project awarded, the City will require assistance with construction observations.
This Professional Services Agreement includes responses to Requests for Information (RFI’s), review and approval of submittals, special inspections related to architectural aspects, and electrical and structural components. Staff has negotiated a fee of $155,000 for these services.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Creating a vibrant social gathering space and event venue for the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds from the General Fund in the amount of $155,000 are proposed in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget in the CIP for this professional services agreement.
