PURPOSE:
To approve utilization of Equalis Group, LLC, cooperative purchasing contracts for the purchase of goods, products, equipment, and services.
BACKGROUND:
Lake Havasu City is a member of several nonprofit cooperative purchasing organizations and utilizes numerous existing governments awarded supplier contracts for the purchase of goods, products, equipment and services. Examples of purchases through this program include electronic traffic messaging boards, safety equipment, maintenance, repair, and operating products.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Use of cooperative contracts are advantageous because they provide market share leverage by combining lead agency government purchase requirements with other public entities thereby gaining economies of scale. The City obtains budgetary benefits achieved through combined volume purchases, delivery and supply chain advantages, best practices, and the reduction of administrative time and expenses.
