Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

General Fund

PURPOSE:

Approve Cooperative Purchase Agreement 500460 for playground equipment and safety surfacing at Jack Hardie Park with Exerplay, Inc., utilizing 1GPA’s cooperative purchasing contract #23-07P-04, in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.3.A.1.

BACKGROUND:

The safety surface in the playground area at Jack Hardie Park is in need of replacing as the current surface is beyond its useful life.  While the surface is being replaced it is an opportune time to also replace the playground equipment and refresh this area of the park.  The current playground equipment will be repurposed at the Island Ballfields to create a playground at this site.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

This park is heavily utilized by young children and they will benefit from new playground equipment as well as a new safety play surface.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are available in the amount of $131,734.60 in Fiscal Year 2023-24 Parks and Recreation Department budget for this expenditure.
